Converse has been tinkering around with the classic Chuck II shoe all year long, including the recent “Car Leather” pack. But none of the brand’s new iterations of the sneaker were as much of an event as the brand’s collaboration with legendary artist (and Highsnobiety cover star) Futura. And, like many things in life, one just wasn’t enough, which is why Converse has unveiled the second edition of the Chuck II x Futura.
Where the first collaborative sneaker was built around weatherized printed rubber, the new edition is built around reflective street-ready graphics. It is called “Skyfall,” so named for Futura’s vision of mountain tops mixed with sky, a dual optical illusion that he has chosen as this iteration’s print. The shoe is available in both hi-top and low-top ox versions, both of which sport the same print. Futura also designed the branded box packaging and shoe bag that accompanies each pair.
The Chuck II x Futura second edition goes on sale tomorrow for $110. Look out for it to appear in select retailers and on Converse’s online store.
