The lives of celebrities is constantly and consistently shrouded in mystery. The way they live, what they do, and pretty much every aspect of their lives is scrutinized and analyzed by millions of worshippers and admirers. Today a music legend, Prince(RIP), has mysteriously passed away, and all of the details surrounding his death have yet to be confirmed or released by the government controlled media.
I personally was never a fan of him or his music. I remember growing up in the 80’s and 90’s wondering who is this man dressed like a woman. I think the current trend cross dressing and effeminate rappers descend from the legacy of Prince. However, I digress on that point. This article is not about my musical tastes. It is about the mystery surrounding Prince’s death. Whether I think so or not, the man was a musical legend.
I won’t make this long and drawn out. I am sure other media outlets and personalities will dig deeper with more scrutiny. I just wanted to point to some obvious things that entered my mind as soon as I heard the news. I remembered there was a bitter dispute between Prince and his record label over ownership of his masters. He had reached a deal wherein he would retain the copyrights over his Masters. Here are some of the details from Billboard Magazine.
“Prince has returned to Warner Bros. Records after 18 years with a deal that will see him regain ownership of his catalog. His classic Warner albums like “Dirty Mind,” “Controversy” and “1999” will continue to be licensed through Warner Bros as part of a new global agreement.
Prince famously had a highly publicized and turbulent split from Warner Bros. in 1996 when he called himself a slave to the label, changed his name to a symbol, and condemned the way the major label system worked.
This deal marks a new era as the ability to terminate master recording copyright after 35 years was granted in the Copyright Revision Act of 1976 and became effective in 1978, the year that Prince’s debut album came out.
Prince albums have scanned 18.5 million units in the United States since Nielsen SoundScan’s inception in 1991; albums issued by Warner Bros. Records have sold 14.3 million units, Billboard calculates based on SoundScan’s data.” Read The Entire Article Here

Prince Also made a Song about the Moors In Spain:
The Moors In Spain Lyrics
We’d b 400 years more advanced
From Arabia they came 2 blossom in Spain
And 2 the beat of the drum they danced Masters of the Arts and all industry
While France, England and all Germany
Wallowed in the mire of their own bigotry
The Moors were the ones who were truly free Civilization came 2 Europe thru the Greek
Who were simply Africans who came from the Nile
The Greeks gave it 2 Rome who lost their way home
And it stayed that way 4 quite a while Under their own misconception of Christianity
The barbaric (?) Europeans suffered greatly
While the Catholic Church was staking it’s claim
The Moors were making great gains
Introducing strawberries, lemons and sugarcane
Algebra, chemistry from the Moors this all came
Their contributions 2 knowledge, 2 numerous 2 name
While in Europe there were no public libraries, the Moors in Spain
Had 70, 600 thousand manuscripts and 17 universities Not hardly a prisoner in the mind of society
In the Spain the Moors were once truly free The one who is most gifted cannot lead the way in a world that never respected authority…
The sword of the Moor would have never left its sheath if the longhaired barbarian who
opposed them would have only seen
That 2 win a war against the so-called “black infidels”
Brings about a peace that cannot last
But I guess all’s well that ends well… well it ain’t over
